Spring Creek Farm maintains a high reputation in performance horse training. Specializing in barrel racing, eventing and pleasure, we are prepared to help with your horse training needs. We can offer a variety of specialized programs to fit you and your horse.

Basic Training

Basic training is for the horse with little or no training and covers the following elements:

•   Halter breaking.

•   Grooming -- including brushing and picking up feet.

•   Walking on lead line -- maneuvering forward, left, right, and back.

•   Ground work -- basic voice commands. Discipline/Manners.

Advanced Training

Advanced training covers the following elements:

•  Colt starting.

•  Lunge line.

•  Introduction to saddle, bridle, and rider, reining, commands (stop/whoa/ho, walk, trot, canter/gallop, back/backup).

Additional Training

Additional training includes:

•   Trailer loading/unloading.

•   Bathing.

•   Introduction to clippers.

•   Troubled horse. Re-training of bad habits.

Specialized Training

Specialized training is available to horses which are ALREADY broke, which we find physically able to take on training for specific disciplines.

Training Program Rates

All rates are subject to the needs of the owner and the individual horse. Please call or e-mail us for current training and boarding rates!

Monthly packages are available that include training, boarding, feed, and daily pasture turnout. The price for a monthly program varies depending on the specific needs of the horse and the owner's special requirements.

Note: The cost for special feeds, medications, emergencies, or special services (farrier, veterinarian, etc.) are not included in training rates and are to be provided at the horse owner's expense.
